This garden centres itself around the swimming pool, once a stark, awkward feature, now softened and fully woven into the surrounding landscape. Instead of fighting against it, the design embraces its presence, using gentle curves, broken edges, and layered planting to anchor it naturally within the wider Cotswold surroundings, allowing the pool to feel like an integral part of the garden rather than an interruption.

Multiple seating areas create different moods throughout the space, encouraging a varied and relaxed way of using the garden: a sociable barbecue terrace close to the house, a laid-back cocktail spot overlooking the Cotswold Way, and a fire pit nestled beneath an amelanchier for quieter, more reflective evenings. Each place invites you to experience the garden differently, depending on the time of day, the season, or the company.

Low-maintenance planting keeps the overall atmosphere calm, effortless, and easy to live with. Soft Mediterranean textures spill over stone and gravel, bringing gentle movement, subtle scent, and year-round interest without feeling overworked. A simple pergola adds height and structure, guiding the eye back into the garden and helping to define the space.

The result is a design that blends Mediterranean ease with Cotswold charm — a contemporary, quietly luxurious garden made for unwinding, reconnecting with nature, and enjoying life at a slower, more considered pace.
