Rolling fields, the Cotswold pathway, and grazing animals beyond naturally draw the eye, so the design focuses on pulling that view closer and allowing the garden to feel part of the wider countryside rather than separate from it.

Layered, organic planting beds soften boundaries and draw the landscape inward, creating a gentle, natural rhythm. A new path set on a subtle forty-five-degree angle opens the space and reveals changing viewpoints down through the garden, across planting, and back toward the house. Curves echo the shapes of the fields beyond, helping the garden settle comfortably into its setting.

A corten steel moon gate frames the view from the bedroom, guiding the eye toward a light, sculptural focal point. The steep bank has been carefully softened with upright sleepers, balanced by a magnolia and a simple timber structure that offers a quiet place to pause.

Limestone, re-used clay pavers, and self-binding gravel ground the garden in honest, permeable materials, while a stone-on-edge rockery introduces texture and movement. The result is a calm, expansive garden that feels rooted, natural, and deeply connected to the land beyond.
